Living Frugally in New York City

This amNewYork article by Sheila Anne Feeney shares some ideas and tips on how New Yorkers can have fun ‘stretching dollars.’

Two examples of online bargains listed in the article’s sidebar are:

  • TheSkint.com – a newsletter about free/cheap events in New York City
  • GrowNYC.org/swap – a list of scheduled swap meets in New York City

The article is a worthwhile read for NYC’s budget-conscious individual.

  1. Thanks for sharing. I follow The Skint, but Grow NYC is new to me.

  2. You’re welcome, and thanks for visiting.

I really like the ‘About’ description in the comments section of your post “The Girl with the Dragon Fruit“:

I’m an analog girl living in a digital world. I’m happy except when I’m sad. I’m serious, smart and sophisticated except when I’m silly, obtuse and crude. I’m ambitious and disciplined; except when I’m apathetic and self indulgent. I‘m thoughtful, generous and honest; except when I’m insensitive, cheap and lying. I’m grateful; I’m grateful; I am grateful.

Other than blogging, are you a writer of fiction or poetry?

  3. Great post! Thank you for sharing!

  4. Hi Brayeis,

I’m glad you liked my profile description.

I’m not a writer. The blog was meant to be a temporary travelogue, but now has become a playground for prose, photos and any shiny objects that capture my attention.

    Peace,
    ATreeGrowsinBklyn
